Last weekend my architecture design studio class took a day trip to San Francisco to visit our project site, the Sutro Baths ruins, located on the north end of Ocean Beach just off the Pacific Coast Highway. Historical ruins of what once used to be a public bathhouse, Sutro Baths sits along the coastline between land and sea, a remnant of San Francisco past and a gem of a landmark. As the sky glows in the ambient afternoon sunlight, the waves crash against the rock formations, drowning out the sounds of the bustling city above. Take a walk along the perimeter walls and you'll find yourself between the calming pool waters and the ocean tides...there's no better place to end your day.
