Taking a class where all you do is experiment with photography is the dream. This week I photographed my classmate, Britta, with a 70-200mm. I'm slowly falling in love the telephoto portrait lens and cropping tighter to capture editorial beauty shots. I'm also discovering my studio backdrop color of choice...gray. It's not as commercial looking as white, and allows for rich shadows but doesn't engulf dark hair like black does. (I'm not too fond of how hair light looks either.) Now if only I can get my hands on one of those gorgeous hand-painted Oliphant backdrops...
