Muse

Andrea is my muse.

Andrea is the most stunning thing, both in her everyday carefree spirit and her supermodel ballerina alter ego. As many may know, one of my favorite things to photograph is dancers in dresses. There's something so feminine and powerful about the way they move their bodies, and the way a dress reciprocates their every step, every leap, every twirl. Each year, Andrea and I go out at the most inconvenient time (finals week last year and sunrise this year) to stage what I think to be the perfect shoot. And we did just that.

It's shoots like these that remind me what I really want to do in the future. Sometimes my dreams and visions get fuzzy, but a visit to the serene Central Coast waters always seems to wash away the doubts. If I could shoot editorial-style fashion portraits like these as a real career, I'd be happy forever. I may not know exactly what I want to do in life, but I'm certain it involves photography, fashion, and beautiful places. Sometimes I like to envision my photos as international advertising campaigns or on the covers of fashion magazines, following the legacies of legends like Annie Leibovitz, Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier... a girl can dream :)
