Germany, 2016

Last week I got the chance to spend a week in Germany, traveling through six cities in seven days with my architecture class. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but despite the crazy packed schedule and the freezing cold weather, I got to witness truly amazing sites. Here are some highlights.

Biberach

After arriving in Munich, we took a series of trains to get to a small town called Biberach. It was an enchantingly quaint little town. We walked through the Christmas market, and visited the architecture university the following day.

Ulm

We only spent an afternoon here but Ulm is home to the most beautiful tallest church in the world, maintained by stone masons who carefully work on restoration. And of course another Christmas market.

Stuttgart

Home of the Mercedes Benz museum and Le Corbusier's Weissenhof Estate.

Berlin

Branderburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Holocaust Memorial, and the coolest evening with our professors at Monkey Bar.

Hamburg

Hamburg was cold and moody but so much fun. We toured the brand new Opera House, and spent the afternoon at the coolest place ever, Miniatur Wunderland.

Munich

On the last leg of our trip, we went to visit the Olympic Village! How cool is that?

Traveling through a city a day was exhausting but I'm thankful for amazing professors who planned this entire trip and rad classmates I got to share this experience with. Also pommes and currywurst and gluhwein and kebabs and schnitzels and crepes and all the bier. Prost!
